• • • Saturday • November 11, 2006 • • •

PLEASE COME AND PARTY! Thanks to so many of you for all your time and energy in the preparation for the Garden Party. Please don't forget the event itself! We want all our parents to come and join in the fun on Saturday, November 11th. The Garden Party is both a major fundraising event and an opportunity for our parent community to celebrate in support of our wonderful school. Invitations have been mailed. Please join us at the Party!

VOLUNTEER! We still need YOU! Each of you has a special skill or talent to contribute. It is not to late to volunteer for the event. One, two or three hours, you decide. Anyone still interested in volunteering, please call Nette Barry at 527-7898.

If you are a member of the Dads Club (or would like to be), please attend the next Dads Club meeting on Tuesday, October 10th at 7pm in the Multi-purpose Room. Sign-up sheets for Dads Club participation in the Garden Party will be available.

What is the Garden Party?

The Garden Party is an ALL VOLUNTEER production. It's Kensington Hilltop School's biggest FUNd-raiser, a wonderful night out, with both silent and live auctions, great food, drinks, and music. Last year's event raised over $75,000! This money funds our school's extra scholastic programs - science and computer lab, art and music, and Read Naturally, just to name a few! These programs are NOT funded by the school district and would not be possible without the Garden Party. This year's Garden Party will be held on Saturday, November 11th at the Universalist Unitarian Church in Kensington. It takes the Kensington Hilltop School community: parents, teachers, and even our kids, to make this party happen!

We need your help!

NEW THIS YEAR
Classes can earn a PIZZA PARTY - simply by having 90% participation in each class basket, your child's class can have a pizza party.  Be sure to sign in on the Pizza Party sheet (check with your teacher, the sheet should be by the donation box or on the cash envelope) with your name and your child's name. YUM!!

Also new this year. Please try to tape the value (receipt of estimated value) of each item onto your donation. This will help the Basket Committee come up with actual values so we know where to start the silent auction bidding on the great baskets (bidding starts at only HALF the actual value). No need to write your name on the item, just the value.  THANK YOU!!

Donations are tax deductible. Time is of the essence, the deadline is October 1st.
